I am now officially finished homeschooling, so that is different.
I hope that you and your family are no longer tired. Homeschooling when tired is a hard thing. Getting energy back can take a while; we had covid in the winter but that was obviously the milder version and I am so thankful for that.
Wishing you a blessed spring!Annie Katehttp://anniekateshomeschoolreviews.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1272887249587912361.post-87910725328554392912022-01-02T10:15:00.332+00:002022-01-02T10:15:00.332+00:00I wish you a blessed New yearI wish you a blessed New yearAritha V. https://www.blogger.com/profile/05246873990952078356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1272887249587912361.post-15078065192379628512021-12-27T01:18:53.360+00:002021-12-27T01:18:53.360+00:00Hi Sarah, I'm a bit late but wanted to wish yo...Hi Sarah, I'm a bit late but wanted to wish you A very happy Christmas! My second one is in the middle of her B.A. My next one is finishing up her last year of high school (grade 12). I also have a tenth grader and a sixth grader. I know that the educational system for secondary education is quite different in the U.S., but it is possible to get your children into universities when you educate them at home. I have found the high school years (grades 9-12) both rewarding and also exhausting. One thing we have done is to make sure that children at that age take classes out of the home (either online or at a local college/community college) in order to see what it is like to be in an institution and to get grades from some other person (and not only mom). Only one or two classes per semester have worked well for us, all other subjects are still covered at home. We have also made sure that our children at that age engage in community work and participate more in church (like church choir, lectors, etc.). That gives them a chance to be part of a bigger community and at the same time contribute something to the common good. Have you read anything by Josephine Tey? I read her before I ever read Agatha Christie. Brat Farrar & The Man in the Queue are a couple I've enjoyed. The girls are keen to do this to see friends as we can’t meet up
- fun cleaning, the lively boy loves being let loose with a feather duster and isn’t that bad at it now! We sometimes do timed cleaning who can do it the faster wins a sweet etc
- pick an overseas pastor to pray for during each week and learn about the country, colour in the flag, learn a few words in the language, watch a documentary about it, make a food dish from that country and pray especially for them
- extended family devotions, learning more hymns together. I guess that’s more morning time though.
- getting the children involved more cooking each meal alongside parent
- no excuse for no time for music practise 😉 if they learn an instrument!

Twinkl is really good we have got lots of free useful things from there for chemistry recently.
Will miss seeing you on Fridays and Sundays, send our love to the children
Emma xxEmmanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1272887249587912361.post-21446135183569095312020-03-07T16:29:26.816+00:002020-03-07T16:29:26.816+00:00Sorry to hear this, Carol.
